Maekake has been used as an apron by working men and women who work selling rice, sake,sugar,miso and many other things. They have been used in Japan for hundred of years. Made of indigo dyed cotton canvas the material is very strong and durable. this maekake originally came from a shop selling Tempura oil. Two pockets on the front side.
